baby boy shower

amandas shower

A few weeks ago we hosted a baby shower at the bouquet farm (Mama also had her wedding shower here a year ago).

We are already knew baby was going to be a boy but we wanted to keep things with a garden feel .. so this is what we came up with.

The desert table was filled with some of the Mom’s favourites such as the cake from Reddy Made Cakes in Abbotsford, banana pudding (seriously so good and cute) and may I suggest a dessert chacuterie!

Lavender lemonade and peach sangria were the perfect drinks to quench your thirst on a hot afternoon.

Everything turned out perfectly with a hint of boy and garden party.

my amazon cart

I love waking up in the morning, grabbing my cup of coffee, sitting on the deck looking over the yard and flipping through inspiring floral or home décor books. Then while I’m still inspired and hyped up on coffee I get out into the garden to work and create flower arrangements. Here are a few books I’m wanting to add to my collection of pretty books to have around the house.

june blooms

How excited am I that things are starting to come into full bloom. There’s a lot of seeds still to come but I love designing with each season and letting my creativity do the work. Right now I’m still balancing between both locations (my parents where I was growing last year) and to my place where everything is first year. This lovely arrangement is displaying flowers from both locations such as hydrangeas (which are just peaking with colour), garden roses, poppies, astilbe, larkspur, ferns and nigella.

Enjoy!

boho reception

Dusty & Naomi Wedding-701

This was our first wedding we hosted at the bouquet farm and even though we are unsure if we will be hosting weddings we had to do this one as it’s family. This wedding was on Jan 1st and we were covered in snow and ice to make for the most beautiful setting.

Dusty & Naomi Wedding-100

Of course we did the florals and décor. We used local winter greenery and supplemented with eucalyptus, protea, blush roses and accents of deep burgundy.

living herbs

DSC_0087

While we are patiently waiting for spring to arrive I’m bringing some life into the house, starting with the kitchen! Herbs in the kitchen have a dual purpose, they are amazing to cook with and look good on the counter creating that fresh look. I have chosen basil as it’s my favourite but there are so many other herbs that you could use such as sage, thyme, dill, parsley, rosemary, chives, cilantro.

a seasonal bouquet

When we started the farm just last season we really wanted to emphasize on growing and choosing local flowers, so going into our second season we really want to build on that. When we create our bouquets they are seasonal and mostly grown on our property. If we choose something else it will be from another local grower in the Fraser Valley. Each week our bouquets will introduce new flowers and no two alike and that’s what will give us that beautiful seasonal flare.

Now to wait to get back into that studio and create!
